Product Videos – People Buy What They Know

If not, now’s the time to consider it because a new study from the video solution provider Invodo reveals that consumers are captivated by videos 60% of the time!

The report provided by Invodo shows that educational and demonstration videos are the most popular among consumers, often being watched multiple times before purchase. In addition, product videos seem to boost consumer confidence, engagement, loyalty and conversions. According to the study, a product demonstration video makes it easier for 66% of consumers to understand how the product works, and it enables 61% of consumers to imagine themselves using the product. Additionally, 51% of consumers in a “ready to buy” state claim that product videos give them more confidence in their potential purchases, and 45% said they would spend more time on the website with higher engagement.

Even though most consumers view the videos on a business’s website, there’s no reason why you can’t promote the videos in other places as well, such as via email and social marketing (Facebook, Twitter, etc). The March 2012 study reveals that in the past three months, 67% of consumers viewed a product video by clicking through an email!
